Dhaka, May 06, 2026: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a steady trading session today, with daily market turnover reaching Tk. 7,676.832 million. While the market maintains liquidity, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and the DSE have issued fresh regulatory warnings, urging investors to steer clear of rumors and adhere strictly to the code of conduct to ensure market integrity.

Regulatory Actions and Investor Safety

In a significant move to protect investor interests, the DSE has cancelled the Trading Right Entitlement Certificate (TREC) of Sonali Securities Limited due to persistent regulatory violations. Investors associated with this firm are advised to settle their accounts and submit any outstanding claims by May 21, 2026. Additionally, Oshadhi Securities Ltd. (OSL) has officially withdrawn the authorization of its representative, Mr. N.F.M. Dafiul Baliat Basunia.

Earnings Season: Upcoming Board Meetings

As the first quarter (Q1) reporting season gains momentum, several major financial institutions have scheduled board meetings to consider their un-audited financial statements for the period ended March 31, 2026:

  • Uttara Bank: Meeting on May 11, 2026, to consider dividend declarations and financial results.
  • BRAC Bank, National Life Insurance, and Green Delta Insurance: Meetings scheduled for May 12, 2026.
  • NCC Bank and Eastern Insurance: Meetings scheduled for May 13, 2026.
  • Al-Arafah Bank: Meeting scheduled for May 14, 2026.

Corporate Highlights and Credit Ratings

In the insurance sector, United Insurance reported a decline in Q1 2026 earnings, with EPS dropping to BDT 0.24, citing higher claim expenses. Conversely, Paramount Insurance received a robust ‘AAA’ long-term rating from ACRSL. In the manufacturing sector, Heidelberg Cement was assigned a surveillance rating of ‘AA2’ with a stable outlook by CRAB, while RAK Ceramics clarified that its recently reported Q1 metrics are consolidated figures.

In a notable share transfer, Mr. Ryan Hamid, a Sponsor Director of BD Thai Food, has completed the transfer of 450,000 shares to his wife as a gift outside the trading system.

Fixed Income and Bond Market Updates

The government securities market remains active with several updates for Treasury Bond (BGTB) investors:

  • Resumption of Trading: Trading for the 10-year (TB10Y0530) and 2-year (TB2Y0527) Treasury Bonds will resume on May 7, 2026.
  • Maturity Suspension: The 15-year BGTB (TB15Y0526) will be suspended on May 7 and 10, and delisted on May 11, 2026, due to its upcoming maturity.
  • Coupon Payments: Record dates for coupon payments for various 5-year and 15-year bonds (TB5Y1127, TB15Y1126, TB5Y0529, and TB5Y1128) are set for May 14, 2026.
