DSE Daily Update: Turnover Hits Tk 7.9 Billion Amid Regulatory Warnings and Corporate Earnings Season

Dhaka, April 13, 2026: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) started the week with significant activity, recording a daily turnover of Tk. 7,934.26 million. However, the day was marked by strong regulatory intervention as both the DSE and the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) issued stern warnings against market rumors and unauthorized information circulating on social media. Investors are urged to rely on fundamental analysis and official disclosures rather than speculative tips.

Corporate Earnings and Board Meetings
Several listed companies have announced dates for their upcoming board meetings to consider financial statements and dividend declarations:

  • Unilever Consumer Care (UNILEVERCL) & Shahjibazar Power (SPCL): Both companies will meet on April 20, 2026, to consider Q1 and Q3 un-audited financials, respectively.
  • Peoples Insurance & Karnaphuli Insurance: Scheduled for April 23, 2026, to review audited financials for FY2025. Karnaphuli Insurance is also expected to discuss potential dividends.
  • Esquire Knit Composite (ESQUIRENIT): The board will meet on April 28, 2026, to review Q3 un-audited results.

Factory Inspections and Regulatory Alerts
Investors should exercise caution regarding Dominage Steel Building Systems and Pacific Denims Limited (PDL). A recent DSE inspection revealed that while Dominage’s Ashulia unit is operational, its Narsingdi factory remains closed. More concerningly, Pacific Denims’ factory was found closed during an inspection, indicating a potential halt in operations. Meanwhile, ACME Pesticides (ACMEPL) clarified that there is no undisclosed price-sensitive information behind its recent unusual price and volume hike.

Corporate Actions and Trading Suspensions
Pragati Insurance saw no price limit on its shares today following its corporate declaration. IDLC Finance will move to the Spot Market from April 15-16, with a full suspension on its Record Date, April 19. Agrani Insurance will also face trading suspension on April 15. Additionally, City Bank has requested its shareholders to update their BO account and tax details ahead of the upcoming Record Date to ensure seamless dividend processing.

Government Treasury Bonds Update
A massive wave of activity is hitting the Treasury Bond market. Trading for several bonds, including 10-year and 15-year BGTBs (maturing between 2026 and 2034), will be suspended on April 15 and 16 due to record dates for coupon payments. Trading for most of these securities is set to resume on April 19, 2026. Furthermore, record dates for coupon entitlements for 15-year and 20-year bonds have been set for April 22, 2026.

Other Notable News
Berger Paints Bangladesh has received BSEC approval to extend the utilization period of its Rights Share issue proceeds until March 31, 2027. In the pharmaceutical sector, 149,500 shares of Pharma Aids held by the late Sponsor Director M. A. Masud are being transmitted to his legal heirs following a court succession certificate.
